If your business relies on a single pillar in any area, you're setting yourself up for a disaster. It’s not a question of if things will go wrong, but when.


The Dangers of Relying on Just One


Imagine you have just one method for generating leads. It’s working great—until one day, it doesn’t. The leads dry up, and suddenly, your pipeline is empty. Now what? 


You’ve got no backup plan, no other source of new business. Your revenue screeches to a halt, and you're left scrambling to fix the problem. 


The result? Lost time, lost money, and a lot of unnecessary stress.


Or consider this: you’ve got one key person handling a critical job. 


Maybe they’re the only one who knows the ins and outs of your accounting system, or they’re the sole point of contact for a crucial client. 


But what happens if they get sick, quit, or, worst of all, decide to jump ship to a competitor? 


You’re left trying to pick up the pieces and keep things running smoothly. It’s a nightmare scenario, but one that’s entirely preventable.


One key staff person.

One source of leads.

How to Safeguard Your Business


The solution is simple: a contingency plan


If you have one of anything in your business, make it a priority to get 1.5, or better yet, two.


Cross-train your team so that multiple people know how to handle critical tasks.


Share passwords and access codes with a trusted backup. 


Diversify your lead generation methods so that if one dries up, another can pick up the slack.


Take time at the end of each week to ask yourself: What’s the worst thing that could happen? 


This isn’t about being negative or attracting bad energy; it’s about identifying potential points of failure before they become crises. This is risk management in business.


Where are the cracks in your armor? 

What’s the one thing that, if it broke, could bring everything to a halt?

And how can you reinforce that weak spot before it’s too late?


Making Your Marketing Hard To Kill


I make it a point to spot the ones in my business and the businesses of the people I help out. Ones are attack vectors. Vulnerabilities. Especially if you think they’re not.⠀


When it comes to marketing this means we’re always looking to get an ad to work… and then we branch it out across many different platforms.⠀


Meta ads working? Awesome.⠀

Let’s look at Youtube.

And Google.

And offline.

And direct mail.

And cold email.

And autoresponder marketing.

And affiliate marketing.

And referral marketing.

And anything else we can think of.⠀


This is the only dependable way to become ‘Hard to Kill’ or ‘Hard to Cancel’.


The worst number in business is 1, so make sure you’ve always got a plan to get to 2 as quickly as possible.
